Tiptoe: Daily Heist Puzzle
A turn-based stealth puzzle built on one elegant rule: the guards move only when you do, so every step is a decision you can plan out. Slip into the vault, take the gem, dodge the sweep of the flashlights and reach the exit — then shave the route down to three stars. A new vault appears each day to keep the streak alive.

About Tiptoe: Daily Heist Puzzle
What Tiptoe: Daily Heist Puzzle is
Tiptoe is a turn-based stealth puzzle with one rule doing most of the work: the guards move only when you move. You sneak into a vault, take the gem, dodge the sweep of the flashlights and reach the exit, and because every step you take is also a step the guards take, each move is a small prediction rather than a reflex. The catalog lists it as a logic game, Medium difficulty, age 16+, around eight minutes on desktop and mobile.
A fresh vault is posted every day, which gives the game the same return-tomorrow shape as a daily crossword: one hand-built room, the same for every player, solved against a three-star target. The stars are tied to the route rather than to speed, so the daily is less about hurrying and more about finding the shortest safe line through a room full of moving watchers.
How to play, step by step
Move with the arrow keys or WASD. Press Z to undo a step and R to restart the vault; on a phone, swipe or tap to move. The objective on every board is the same: get in, collect the gem, get out without stepping into a guard's line. Undo is the important key early on, because it lets you test a route without committing to it.
Read the room before the first move. Note where the guards start, which way their flashlights point, and which tiles are safe when nobody is looking. Then take the first step and watch what changes: a guard who was facing one way may now be facing another, and the safe tile you planned to use may have become the exposed one. The board state is the puzzle, and it only updates when you do.
When a guard blocks the corridor you want, the answer is usually a loop rather than a shove. Step wide, let the patrol turn, and come back on the new safe side. The same applies at the exit: if the last stretch is watched, spend a move repositioning instead of trying to dash through, because the guards get exactly as many moves as you do.
Technique: thinking in turns
The one-rule design means you can plan in pairs of states: my move, then their move. Before committing, ask what the board looks like after the guard responds, not just after your own step. Most failed runs come from planning only the first half of that pair, which is why the undo key is less a rescue tool than a rehearsal tool.
Route economy matters because three stars reward the shortest line. Count the moves you need for the gem and the exit, then look for the version of the route that removes a step rather than the version that removes a risk. A longer safe path can still be the right answer when the short one depends on a guard being in exactly the wrong place.
Use restarts deliberately. A daily vault is small enough to learn, so a restart after a clean read is often faster than undoing a messy chain one step at a time. Learn the opening, identify the two or three decision points in the room, and replay from the start once you know which branch the guards allow.
Difficulty, sessions and devices
Medium is the catalog rating, and the difficulty is mostly in the reading: the rules never change, but later rooms chain more guards and tighter corridors. Eight minutes is a fair estimate for a daily vault, including a retry or two, and the turn-based pace means nothing punishes you for thinking.
It runs free in the browser on desktop and mobile, with no download and no account, and the game page's Facts table carries the current controls and accessibility notes for the third-party build. If turn-based logic appeals, the site's logic collection keeps the other deduction puzzles one click away.
Frequently asked questions
How do you play Tiptoe: Daily Heist Puzzle?
Move with the arrow keys or WASD, or swipe and tap on a phone. Sneak into the vault, take the gem and reach the exit without entering a guard's flashlight; the guards move only when you do.
What do the Z and R keys do?
Z undoes your last step and R restarts the vault. Undo is useful for testing a route, and restart is quicker once you have read the room and want to replay a clean line from the start.
Is there a new puzzle every day?
Yes. A fresh vault is posted each day, with three stars tied to finding the shortest safe route rather than to finishing quickly.
Is Tiptoe free on mobile?
Yes. It runs free in the browser on desktop and mobile, with no download and no account required.
